Akita Inu chopping board

Image of Akita Inu chopping board

The dog breed, Akita, originated in the snowy and rural lands of Akita and Odate, mountainous regions of Japan. In 1931, the Akita was officially declared a Japanese Natural Monument.

Akita Inu is inlaid with amber into solid Oak, then topped with resin, to provide a secure and waterproof seal. Each board features a silver coloured handle at the top for easy storage/hanging.
These beautiful boards would make a stunning addition to any kitchen and would also be an excellent gift for any Akita Inu lover.

• 2cm thick
Perfect for use as a chopping board, cheese board or for presenting anti-pasti or cold meats.

Care instructions:
Step 1: The Wash
Wash by hand your wooden product with water (soap is fine too)

Step 2: The Oil (once in 2 months)
The next morning, use your hands to apply a generous layer of vegetable oil to the sides, top, bottom, and any groove, grip, or handle. You don’t need puddles of oil on your board, just enough to cover the wood with an even coat

Step 3: Let it rest
Once you’ve covered the whole piece of wood with oil, you’ve created a barrier to help the wood retain moisture. You know what to do. On its side. Broad faces out. Let it sit overnight.
