Large, light in weight carbonised oak wood board with natural bark edges for that rustic charm in your kitchen.
Carbonisation - process is an entirely natural way of preserving wood which involves charring the wood’s surface, cooling it with water, then sealing it with natural oil.
As with all our boards, you can carve meat and cut vegetables, fruit, herbs and fish. We do recommend that you use different boards for meat and veg, or keep one side for each food type.
Rustic items work brilliantly in modern kitchens and give your home that in-trend Nordic style.
These boards have been crafted by artisans to a very high standard.
Each board has been carved from one piece of oak wood, which is a very beautiful and very hard wood. Every piece is completely unique with stunning grain patterns and colour and at least one rustic, organic edge.
Length: 62.5 cm
Height: 1.2 cm (thickness of the board)
Weight 1.65 kg (with packaging over 2 kilos)
Step 1: The Wash
Wash by hand your wooden product with water (soap is fine too)
Step 2: The Oil (once in 2 months)
The next morning, use your hands to apply a generous layer of vegetable oil to the sides, top, bottom, and any groove, grip, or handle. You don’t need puddles of oil on your board, just enough to cover the wood with an even coat
Step 3: Let it rest
Once you’ve covered the whole piece of wood with oil, you’ve created a barrier to help the wood retain moisture. You know what to do. On its side. Broad faces out. Let it sit overnight.
